BASIC WINDOW & DOOR TYPE
Double Hung Window --- A window with two vertically sliding sashes which by-pass each other in a single frame.
Single Hung Window --- A Window which one Vertically sliding sash which by-passes the fixed upper sash in a single frame.
Casement Window --- A hinged window with a sash that cranks outward, to the right or left.
Hopper Window --- A window hinged at the bottom, in which the top of the sash cranks outward.
Picture Window --- A window with one fixed unit/sash in a single frame.
Bay/Bow Window --- A picture window flanked by two of more fixed units, double hungs or the more traditional casements.
Slider Window --- A window with 2 sashes (and possible middle fixed sash) in which the 2 outer sashes slide horizontally past the others.
Awning Window --- A window, hinged at the top, in which the bottom sash swings outward.
